Our past has shown us the value of education. It is a powerful tool in changing the course of history. Unfortunately, we also know that education is not provided equally across India. Education in rural areas suffers the worst impact. OM TARE FREE EDUCATION TRUST aims to dissect the problems of education in rural areas and provide workable solutions to overcome them. The effects of poverty on children are wide-reaching and can lead to lifelong struggles, especially when young people lack access to education. Poverty and education are inextricably linked, because people living in poverty often quit school in favor of working to support their families, leaving them without the literacy and numeracy skills necessary to build better careers. The impact is generational. Their own children, faced with the same situation years later, likewise have little income and few options but to leave school in order to work.

OM TARE FREE EDUCATION TRUST aims to help poor children and families escape the cycle of poverty through various educational and livelihood programs. Our goal is to learn by listening to communities about their specific needs and working to fulfill them. Education is as necessary to living a complete life as food, water, and clothing. Sufficient schooling is a valuable asset in achieving success and independence. Apart from developing self-sufficiency, education also plays a role in building our self-awareness and personality. School age children work with and amongst their peers to learn effective methods of communication, problem solving, compromise, and cooperation. A solid educational background not only provides a support network for children, but raises the standards of an entire community. Only with educational success can a community truly move forward. We all want to see our children and the youth of this country prosper, and we all stand to benefit from the renewed sense of identity fostered by coming together as a community to make that happen. OM TARE FREE EDUCATION TRUST has been working for 8 years to ensure quality elementary education for children, especially rural children and those from marginalized communities, to help them become the leaders and changemakers of the future.
